For The Installers

  • Less time on site meaning that the time spent working on a dangerous embankment are reduced. This is always risky; both for workers and when using machinery, particularly when there is a live rail, a road or water at the bottom of an embankment.

  • Off-site manufacture minimises site time which reduces the installation cost and other associated costs i.e the hire of equipment. As a result operatives spend less time together on site, which also helps prevent the spread of infectious diseases like Covid-19.

  • The KITEStep components are designed for a maximum two-man lift, reducing the risk of manual handling injuries.

  • A KITEStep can be installed in a range of weather conditions.

For The Environment

  • Minimal habitat disturbance by design, whereas bank grading is very destructive. 

  • A significant proportion of the KITEStep is constructed from steel, which is typically 70% recycled.

  • Minimal excavation results in very little material being taken to landfill, as KITEStep is often installed on top of existing concrete steps. This also prevents further, unnecessary habitat disruption.

  • There is minimal use of finite quarried resources in concrete mass, and a great deal less when compared with what is required to construct traditional concrete steps.
