What does engineering mean to you?

Google says that engineering is.

-    ‘Engineering is the use of scientific principles to design and build machines, structures, and other items, including bridges, tunnels, roads, vehicles, and buildings’

-    ‘The branch of science and technology concerned with the design, building, and use of engines, machines, and structure.

Working in the Civil engineering and infrastructure industry. KITE wanted to find out what engineering meant and not surprisingly we all came up with different opinions on what we thought engineering meant.

  • The design and manufacture of products and services to develop a result.

  • Making & designing structures.

  • To imagine, design and create something.

  • Designing and manufacturing of structures.

  • The application of principles and technologies to create solutions.

  • Building of bridges and larger structures.

  • Car and train engines.

KITE work in many different sectors helping to design, create and manufacture solutions for demanding infrastructure environments, where there is a responsible attitude to keeping operatives safe, whilst working on the maintenance of vital infrastructure network. We believe we have the right solutions for railway, highway, aviation, defence, power-generation, oil, gas, marine & coastal sites – anywhere that calls for a resilient adaptable access system in a demanding environment.
